I think what some of us are starting to think is ‘where is all the money disappearing to from the riches of the Premier league funds’
. The 3 promoted teams spent more than us. After 10 years where is it?

It doesn't disappear; it gets spent on wages and transfer fees.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Yes, but it’s how it is spent. Too much on players wages in total or too great an imbalance between individual players? I know he has gone now but around £100k per week on Benteke in the past. Now reputedly Eduoard on £94k rather than 2 players at £50k each, such as possibly on a par with Olise

You started by asking why we do everything on the cheap and now you are pointing out that we don't!

As long as it isn’t in Americans pockets!

So are you saying that the American shareholders of CPFC are stealing the club's revenue?

Hopefully not. All I know is there should be more money. We are last in the table for spending since last summer. Wan Bassaka’s fee paid for the academy so where’s the rest?

A Recent set of accounts (I think the one before last) revealed, I think, that we spent at least 90% of our income on player wages. As I recall it was the highest percentage spent on wages of any club in the PL.

We have been paying over the odds on wages for years to try and get and retain players to keep us in the PL. Our League One standard ground simply doesn't bring in enough revenue and we don't have a sufficient footprint on the international circuit to earn the kind of commercial revenues enjoyed by most of our competitors.

Hopefully the realignment transition that is currently happening will gradually sort this and the new stand once built will also help.

The owners, of course, will have taken out some money by way of dividends as is usual in business- whether we like it or not, football (and especially PL football) is a business not a sport.

Somewhat surprising to see Hannam ( currently at non-league Bromley) in the list. Perhaps there was nobody else left to make up the numbers.

Tomkins, James Oliver Charles - some royal, and indeed anti-royal, names for Mr Tomkins.

Kagisho Evidence Dikgacoi. There must be a story behind that middle name.

He's a LB and we need all the cover we can get. Also we haven't even named a full 25 - just 24 and in addition to Hannam (back from Bromley or included in case we need to recall him?) we have Balmer on that list.
