Tone deaf one sided article trying to defect attention away from the real issue. I expect he writes the same thing weekly about the opposition. The fans don't have a say in who the club is owned by or sponsored by all they can do is protest. Newcastle fans have chosen not to protest and welcome the blood money owners but the writer is more keen to point out we have Saudi sponsors. I am not keen on that either but I still say F the Saudis

We never claim to be whiter than white, but those muggy mags always see things their way. I did not see that advertising. Do I like it. No. Do I want to see that advertising go; yes. Our biggest hypocrisy as a fanbase is probably the discomfort we feel about Textor and Facebank. But at least we feel the discomfort and would rather not be associated with a bit of a dodgy business. The Geordies seem to love their association with Saudi. It suits their whiny 'us against the world' attitude. Our ownership and investment is nothing on the PIF. If they or Qataris came anywhere near Palace, I would consider ditching my support, though I know I am in a tiny minority. Edited by EaglesEaglesEagles (22 Jan 2023 2.18pm)

He is a she. I'm not sure that the Newcastle fans are any different to Palace fans as most of us would continue to support our team even if the Saudis had bought us instead of them. I know that I would

I actually got the feeling the chant was implying the Saudis had paid off the ref. Every time a decision went their way, which was for the majority of the game the chant rang out. I don’t think it was a coincidence

I know that I would I'm not sure I would, it would depend on who the actual owners are I would like to think that at some point we would all draw the line with certain owners.

The article is written as if Palace fans have control over who 'our' club sell advertising space to.

It's exactly the same to have an advertising board paid for by a Saudi/Egyptian company as it is to be owned directly by a country that openly murdered a journalist who criticise them. We hang out heads in shame.

I'd say that there's a difference between selling a small measure of ad space on a pitch side hoarding and the outright sale of your entire club to a foreign regime that for a start changes your away kit to match the colours of their national flag, a naked sports washing gimmick if ever I saw one. No doubt these days you could find questionable money somewhere or other at every club if you looked hard enough (and you probably wouldn't have to look very hard most of the time) but still, some are considerably worse than others. Also, if you do have an objectionable regime owning your club, you can still support the team without embracing the regime. The sight of Toon supporters celebrating the takeover last year dressed in Arab garb set a new low benchmark for moral vacuity. I'd like to think if Palace was ever taken over by a similarly loathsome group, we would at least not stoop quite that low. Edited by sydtheeagle (22 Jan 2023 7.55pm)

Wow! Unknown journalist publishes an article pointing out that some football fans sometimes aren't very nice. Yawn!
