It's funny, but I thought exactly this walking to work this morning and was about to post the same thing. I have family members on the spectrum one of whom plays (at a very, very amateur kids' level) and I have seen him handle memorable moments with the same indifference Olise does - then, once home after the game, bubble away in delight for hours once back in his safe environment. Not everyone is, to use the phrase, neuro-typical. Edited by sydtheeagle (20 Jan 2023 9.10am) Spot on. I work in the youth sector and I handle the kids with different needs and yeah, it just wouldn't surprise me - which is why it kinda upset me last month where they sent him out for an interview alone, yes the interviewer was prepped and he asked really simplistic questions in a really subtle way, for Olise - but he needed a guiding hand with his answer or at least someone there to fill it out - like a Clint Morrison under bro kinda thing

My bet, looking at the bigger picture, I would compare his actions to someone on the spectrum... If he were, he could inspire so many more... but understandable why he and the club would protect/nurture him, long as they don't set him up to fail with some interviewers. Alternatively he is doing his job and knows he should score more often, or, he really wishes he was a plumber instead. I bet if he fitted a boiler and heating system he would be cartwheeling Edited by cryrst (21 Jan 2023 5.10am)

I am happy as long as he gets on with things on the pitch. Let Olise just be...Olise!

He celebrated after his last minute goal away at West Ham. Perhaps he was having an undemonstrative Cantona moment

Or perhaps he was feeling guilty about not tracking back with Fernandes when he scored.....!
