I thought we were unlucky not to have come away with a point against Chelsea. It was a fairly bright performance until we conceded the goal. Guaita made some great saves, but so did Kepa.
However, once again, the formation didn't get the best out of the players. Edouard should have started up front instead of Ayew, Eze has to play in the middle behind him and Doucoure needs help in midfield. Huğes is probably not the long term answer, but has to be a better option than Schlupp against Man Utd on Wednesday. Olise is probably our most consistent player at the moment, but needs to play wide right. As for Wilf, he is still an enigma, but
Is not effective when Edouard plays as he has more space.

We desperately need another strong midfielder on the window to partner Doucoure, as well as a striker to replac Mateta, who offers nothing, especially in his link up play.

Let's keep the ball this season!

I’m guessing you didn't watch the match?

I would say the first half was even, but once again we didn't come out for the second half, aside from a late surge. I do agree though that we possibly did enough to warrant a draw in terms of chances. I also agree with most of the rest. I am certainly in the camp calling for Hughes who came on like a rapid terrier, almost immediately wiping out Gallagher and putting pressure on the Chelsea midfield (something Schlupp never does).

We have a clueless manager

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

My message was referring to the OP message on our players positions which wasn’t where they played. It was a fairly even game over all and one that got away from us between half time and their goal.

PV had plenty of time to change it but sat on his hands.

If this was an isolated performance, the lesson would be the more clinical team won it.

But it obviously isn't. Hughes added something when he came on. Has to start against Utd for me.
