I hadn’t realised how miserable / grumpy I was about Palace until that late equaliser last night. We were in my row and in front shaking hands, fist pumping and laughing and hugging each other. Man, it felt good and still does. So, that’s why we go :-) Amen
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I was having this conversation with a friend of mine recently, he’s a Spurs fan, we both agreed we wish we didn’t like football. I followed Palace for 60 years, I can’t stop now, I’ll go to my grave wearing a Palace shirt My biggest moan in the modern game is players feigning injury, going down holding their face rolling around after a dig in the ribs when they probably get worse playing with their kids ! I don’t get down these days, there’s more to life than football, forget it, move on and enjoy life. Mine too. I have particularly noticed how since it has become mandatory for the ref. to hold up play when a player has a head injury, that when a players goes down in a challenge, but the ref. doesn't blow up for an infringement, and the opposition gain possession, the player suddenly writhes around holding his head in his hands.

One of my many issues with the use of VAR. How easy is it to retrospectively punish players who clearly cheat. Hojberg yesterday a fine example. I was at Forest just before the WC: Yates did it 3 times in a row, then the last time came back onto the pitch before the referee signaled him to come back on. Penalties another one, let's not start on that. Originally posted by Pete53

It's a bit of an odd rule - obviously if a player has a head injury there is the risk that he may be seriously hurt but every time? Boxing matches wouldn't last long with this protocol in place.

To be fair, taking a dive and rolling around the floor in boxing is not recommended if you want to win, (unless of course you received a large envelope with a round number on it before the fight).

True, but I meant the suspected inherent danger from any sort of head injury which football rules mean an instant stoppage.
