It’s pretty obvious CDM/ CM is the most critical position we need to recruit in January. Schlupp is a waste of space, Macca has run out of legs, Luka is Luka and PV doesn’t fancy Hughes.

Yokuslu would be a budget option for CDM. He was one of the standout performers when WBA got relegated a few seasons ago. He was a loan from Celta Vigo but re-signed for the Baggies ahead of this season. Looks like he struggled under Bruce (not the only one) but he has been immense since Corberan took over.

He’s a proper CDM. Tough tackler, horrible to play against and a physical presence at 6”2. All attributes we are in desperate need of and would give Doucoure a bit more licence to roam. WBA are in a fair bit of debt so could be pinched for £3-5million which is peanuts in todays market. Gustavo Hamer @ Coventry would be another decent championship pick up but would likely be +£10million.

Yokuslu started off as a goal-scoring winger before being moved to a defensive midfield role.

Hamer is no stranger to yellow cards !

He'd probably be ok for us.

He'll be 29 in March, which is not "over the hill" by any standards... to me seems like we should be going for younger players with more potential.

Milivojevic is 31 and it seems his time is pretty much up for us, save for a few times when we have been desperate.

If he is capable of putting in performances like he did when WBA were in the PL then I think he'd be perfect for us. I also think it's a shame we didn't get Soumare from Leicester in the summer when he was out of favour. He's looked very solid now he's getting game time. A big strong lad like one of these two is what is missing from our midfield in my view.
