Anyone else got one and use the phone app? Google have bought them and have changed the login to the App. I can't get in. It says login with Google which i do, it then says do you already have a nest account, answer yes. Wont let me in. Ask for a password reset. No email. Its like my account has been deleted. Really poor show. No advanced notice just did it. Bugger all support.

Ye gods. Is this to make sure the bluetits in your garden don't freeze this winter? Edited by Slimey Toad (30 Nov 2022 5.42pm)

RIP it out and stick a standard wall stat in. This digital s*** isn’t in your control. Load shedding will happen for all you with smart meters. Save the dolphins and screw the humans.

Solved it myself. I had to perform a reset to defaults on the nest. Then connect to it via a laptop web browser connected via the nest website. Once I had input the app code requested I was able to get in to it and reset a schedule. The phone app now works automatically. Good of google to provide information and help with this................ My blue tits will now be warm this winter.

It tries to fool you into letting Google control your whole world. But there is still a Nest login available if you look carefully

My experience of these things is they either go well, right first time, or they are a real pain in the rear & you have to walk away & come back when you are less frustrated / got less going on, to take another run at it when you are calm & composed (clear headed) - usually for me that means the next morning with a cup of coffee in hand & the wife still in bed.
