We have arranged two friendly games for December

Sat 3 Dec v Botafogo (Brazil)12.30 KO

Fri 16 Dec v Valladolid (Spain) 18.00 KO

Needing a Palace fix in this fallow period I have got a ticket for the Botafogo game. I was thinking of attending the second game but a rail strike on that date put paid to any such plans.

6pm on a Friday when there is a rail strike makes it a challenge for most people other than the most local fans

. . . & we're off to Turkey for a mini-Tourno. As mentioned a couple of weeks ago on another thread.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

£20 for a friendly - come on.

We are in a cost of living crisis and prices for league games have already gone up about 20% this season.

Surely a tenner tops, or even a fiver and £1 for kids to get the ground half full.

We will only get about 5,000 attending which would cover a week's of Wilf's salary.

I noticed a non league club are doing a free home league game (Ilkeston), so maybe that would have been a nice xmas pressie for supporters.

Come on SP, you are missing a trick here

As it turns out its not even a freindly match but a glorified training session . Palace have confirmed they will be fielding two teams one in each half .

Sorry but thats not why I watch football , Ill be watching the WC on the telly

I decided to go because I was missing my SP fix, especially with the break for the Queens passing & then the WC -

Admittedly £20 adult is a bit strong for a friendly but how often do you get to see Botofago play especially as they are part of the "John Texter" group family -

It may well be that as his footballing empire grows we shall see a lot more co operation between those clubs where he has shares, I see it as an introductory glimpse of what our future might look like -

i think FA Cup game v Saints is £15 adults - so less than a meaningless friendly the week before xmas. Madness (the friendlies - not the FA cup prices)
