Goes back to "their country , their rules" whilst its clear that those wearing the crusaders costume are demonstrating their right to support their team in a manner that they choose, their hosts have on this occasion taken a dim view of it, in many ways its a bit like it being frowned upon to wear Nazi paraphernalia in this country, even in fancy dress circumstances. A couple of posts on the other "offended" thread are quite descriptive too Originally posted by Stirlingsays

However, in this country they take the complete p1ss in the opposite direction.

Absolutely - I guess they are a bit rabbit in headlights with the focus & attention of the worlds media upon them, in any event if they can ban rainbows & armbands then I guess crusader costumes would also fall under that category - Originally posted by Stirlingsays

I'm not sure you should refer to the majority of posters as proper thickies. Average intelligence I'd suggest. But being offended by a comment on a thread about being offended is quite entertaining. Well done Offended? Not in the least. Just amused by your attempt to assess the intelligence level of your fellow fans, most of whom, I would assume, are unknown to you. Oh, I see you did it again!

Ah yes, its very offensive to display a sword or even a representation of a sword. Very violent and disrespectful. We are all offended. Now that Saudi flag, with the big sword.....ah, thats ok cos its their 'culture'

Whilst I am ready to stand corrected, I would comment that a fake sword is not so much objectional (although it could be interpreted in the same way as a fake gun) however the appearance of the long white tunic & red cross adorning the fake armour is more likely to be inflammatory to a well educated Muslim population, with immigration officials already on alert for anything that could incite problematic behaviour or reaction, the crusader dress doesn't feature on our national flag in the same format. A standard white T shirt with either the union flag or St Georges cross on it would probably pass unquestioned. There has been no news of nations not being allowed to enter either carrying or wearing their national flag - The Saudi flag is the recognised flag of their neighbouring country it has the sword on it to symbolise strictness in applying & justice with the words against it - there is no God but the one true God, Mohammed is the prophet of God, so long as no one is doing anything derogatory to either their own or someone else's national flag that too would probably be allowed to pass. The Crusaders Cross ? 3 Lions. Richard the Lionheart. A Crusader. He probably butchered more people than the Charlie Hebdo terrorists. i am very offended by 3 lions. And the Charlie Hebdo killers. And the sword on the Saudi Flag. so, you said the Union Flag....well i guess people out in Qatar will find that less offensive ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (27 Nov 2022 5.27pm)

Oh, you're offended alright. Ergo you're acerbic response. I haven't attempted to assess anyone's intelligence, I merely stated a fact. A poll of a random group of people will give you average results.
