So Infantino says boo and all the European teams s*** themselves, it's quite pathetic, if they had all threatened to walk away that would have put the matter to rest

The BBC will be between a rock and a hard place here which is good

I don't care about the issue, it's the rank virtue signalling hypocrisy of the FA and the players.

They will of course take a knee to show they care

Infantino's speech was pure wibble, does he know what was going on 3000 years ago.

His bank balance must be bulging at the seams

Time for a break away from FIFA and a 16-20 team world cup.

48 teams in the future, FFS.

The minor football nations can have their own tourney

The same Infantino who last night sat next to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia who are bidding for the World Cup in 2030.

It would be nice if they could just play the fecking game of football.

If they have a problem don't go.....but they all went.

Cake and eat it.....fake principles.

Not so sure it's that clear cut. On footballing principles, without all the bull, there are plenty of arguments that this is all balls.

The WC continues with extra BS as England and Wales show the backbones of jellyfish.

Really pathetic virtue signalling wokeness backfiring in a big way.

If I was a member of the Multi Coloured Swap Shop Community I'd be thoroughly p!ssed off that a physical gesture can be made in support of black lives by continuing with the kneeling, but nothing for the LGBTQ+ one (which I thought what all the criticism was about for the World Cup being played in Qatar).

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

Just concentrate on the football ... there are issues but nothing is going to be resolved by wearing a silly armband!

Not wearing armbands proves one thing, taking the knee is performed by a bunch of hypocrites, the first moment that their actions have consequences, they change their minds, all the time taking the knee made them look good with no cost they did it, the moment there is a cost they scarper, but then we always knew it was b,,,,,cks

The Iranian players didn't sing their national anthem in protest about events there. I don't agree with politics being involved in sport but that took some courage with the reaction they could when they go back.

The nonsense of your position is that rather than make the Qats view clear fron the outset, they strung the whole world along using FIFA as a cover then changed their position at the last minute. Infanti, is top level C U next Tuesday.

If the Qats had said we will not allow alcohol, we will do it in summer and we will never support any LGBQT+ rights then fair enough. Doing it at the last minute and using infanti to justify it...they can all feck themselves.

You may be surprised that I agree this.

The criminalization of sexuality is morally repugnant but is only something we ourselves managed to overcome 50 years ago. That is a heartbeat in terms of civilization development. We have had more enlightened laws for only 5 decades and improved public attitudes for considerably less, yet we feel we have the right to lecture others who will doubtless arrive at the same destination in their own time.

Sure, protest, and let them know we think they are backward. But it is their house and their rules. And on that, under the weird speech of the FIFA president, his criticism of Western hypocrisy was unarguable.
