The EU and/or NATO was where you used to reward incompetence or offer politicians a place to hide way whilst still enjoying the benefits. So so many examples but the current EU President,Ursula von der Leyen is perhaps the most striking. Her record in German Government is beyond shocking. The definition of incompetence on so many levels. And yet now... Worth looking up her time as Germany's Defence minister.

Last week she appeared on the Late Late Show and basically said that nobody knows where all the inflation came from....like it happened by magic or the Ukraine war.....utter utter scoundrel she is.

Football managers are difficult to beat in terms of reward for failure. If they don't meet expectations, which are often set unrealistically high, they are sacked with a huge payoff. They have a contract for X amount of years, so it gets paid up on dismissal. Council chiefs worm their way in, lose millions on barmy schemes that nobody voted for, then leave paying themselves a huge bonus. Croydon Council is a billion pounds in debt, nobody has been held to account.

Not every manager can win or deliver the demands of the owners. But yeah, some are just generally not up to it.
