Whenever I read one of your intended "put-downs", which are, for me, not either amusing, accurate or cutting, but just rather juvenile and consequently pathetic, I wonder what possible motivation you can have for them.

You seem obsessed with saying I am "wrong" in my opinions, whereas the truth is that opinions are never right, or wrong! They are simply opinions of what someone believes to be true. That is so blindingly obvious it ought not be necessary to state it in every post! Really indisputable facts are much, much rarer than opinions. That I express my opinions with certainty and vigour, and criticise others, doesn't change that. It's all part of the examination of the arguments, in an endeavour to discover the truth.

Ad hominems are the refuge of those with nothing to say.

I look forward to your revised posting policy, as outlined above.

Odd use of inverted commas around put-downs and wrong.

Do you not see that writing words to the effect that anyone who disagrees with your opinions lacks common sense, knowledge, a sense of fairness, is overly partisan, probably a fascist etc etc.

Your narcissistic insights into your personal life are a side issue to the opinions.

Opinions can not be right or wrong, they can be disagreed with and argued.

Your like the old joke along the lines of " that's what I have done recently, now let't talk about me for a while "

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

If that's true then you've probably written the most of anyone on this site but said the least.

I think you will find I rarely post an ad hominem. Whenever I comment on someone's character it is in response to one. That you think there is little there isn't that surprising, given who the most frequent recipient is.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

It's far from a new policy. You have obviously been too obsessed with finding fault to notice it. For the avoidance of any doubt, in my opinion!

I use inverted commas to emphasise that something is a quote, often one I don't believe is appropriate.

When many of the views expressed here are from the far right of the political spectrum and can sometimes have echoes of a past best forgotten, it's hardly surprising when responses are forthright and unequivocal.

I use personal examples because I can speak with certainty about them, rather than theoretically.

You have no need to read any of my posts, if you find them objectionable, nor do you need to reply but should you do so, and when doing so make snide comments, then expect a reasoned response in return.

On a grammatical point, you used inverted commas around words that were not quotes in the context of the post, unless you are somehow quoting yourself.

As Christmas is approaching I look forward to tales of your post- dreams Scrooge acts of distributing largesse to the less fortunate of the South West.

God bless us every one.

( I have to admit I do smile to myself when your responses indicate I have pricked your dirigible of self importance )
