Don’t know how he’s managed it, but Anthony Gordon is playing tonight and has just picked up his 6th booking of the season. Surely it’s a 1 game ban after 5 yellows.

Picking up points from indifferent performances is a great habit. First half we had a lot of the ball but looked slow, lacking in ideas and there were too many passes in front of the opposition. Doucoure's long range shot was the only occasion their keeper looked troubled. Wolves goal was quality but Costa had missed a good chance and Neves' free kick would have made it game over. Zaha has looked much happier / more of a threat played centrally in recent seasons and fair play to PV for the change and the subs. Doucoure was MOM. An absolute beast, particularly in the ball winning sense.

He got caught up the pitch, I've seen it in the academy side as well. He did track back but his initial position was too far forward.

Having just given TL nightmares re Gordon's likely availability for Saturday, time to turn to last night's match. Firstly, I was at the match and, therefore, probably viewed things differently to those who watched on tv. - I found it a very entertaining game with two sides trying to play quick progressive football for the most part. Yes, I'd have loved to have seen us score a third goal, but Wolves defended well for the most part. Everton will be another tough game, especially now that Doucoure will be absent. It will be interesting to see how PV decides to set us up for that one. Obviously, I want us to win but I'll be happy with a point. I wasn't at the game, but I agree with what you have written. It's a shame that you had to ruin it by pointing out rat face will be playing on Saturday. Everton looking like they're setting up to try and be hard to beat this season, I just hope that little bugger Maupay doesn't get any ideas about scoring against us!

I agree, I thought he played well. Made a nuisance of himself by pushing forward more often than he usually does. The goal imo was more Mitchell’s fault. He needs to learn to stand sideways on to the game so he can see those attacking his post as well as those in the centre. He often gets sucked in thinking he is helping the centre half.out but in doing so leaves a big space at the far post. He looked round for someone to blame, but really he needed to have one eye on Traore himself. Whilst you can always criticise the defending for a goal and there is always an element of someone switching off/losing his man the Wolves goal did highlight quite a few issues with our set up. Firstly Olise was too far forward and slow to react - i think this is the least of the issues. Surely we want our 3 up top to be up top for most of the game. We play 3 in midfield, Jeff was playing more to the right of that 3. He was nowhere to be seen - compare this with say a Liverpool 3 in midfield. Ward was also out of position and dragged into the centre. He was also slow to react and didn't try to close down. This gave the left back all the time in the world to put over a decent cross. Finally, and perhaps most crucially Mitchell was making Traore, yet at the last seconds leaves his position and moves towards Guehi in the centre. This leaves Traore, a free header. Of all these 'errors' i have to agree i think Mitchell is most at fault. Really poor defending.
