doi209 Fighting for the weak and innocent... 13 Sep 22 6.12pm | |
---|---|
I lived in West Croydon from 1978 to 1982. I don't ever remember it being that bad. Purley used to be OK. Coulsdon hasn't fared much better. Still have family in Kenley but rarely visit. We moved to Dorset in 86 to a life of no crime, fresh air and no worry of violence. Surrounded by farmland. Bought up two sons who prospered greatly. Highly recommended if you can get there.

Once again a tragic loss of life over what I'm sure will be a completely pointless matter. Edited by samprior (13 Sep 2022 6.28pm)

Indeed, a toxic mentality, where the moment of bravado/machismo has terrible consequences and it's about the most cowardly thing someone could do.

I would also add that it could be so well ingrained in the culture now that such an attack is the ‘done thing’. I will also speculate that social media has something to do with it too.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The problem there has always been that so many youngsters say that they have to carry a knife for their own protection - and some of them are probably not lying. not a viable excuse, the line needs to be drawn & examples made.

The best 'protection' is to be somewhere else or to run away. A knife never protected anybody. Use a knife, go to jail and then lose 100 more fights.
