I've been trying to explain to the missus about her situation. Most of the women where she works, work 4 days a week between Monday to Friday. Her day 'off' is a Monday. This means that the others get the benefit of having paid bank holidays, and this coming Monday off. She still works 4 days next week where others will work 3 for the same money. She's being done imo but doesn't want to rock the boat.

Tbh the funeral could have been on a Friday and then she would have gotten the dough and a day off. It just happens it isn’t. What about the jubilee when some got two days off with pay and some none in certain jobs. I think just got to suck it up and know that hopefully the next few years have no changes to the calendar.

It's worth noting that Football London is now reporting that Palace v Chelsea on October 1 may be postponed owing to a train strike.
Hopefully this won't be the case but sadly these days you can't tell as games are called off on a whim.

I hope that PV is finding a way to turn this gameless period to our advantage. The existing injuries having more time is one positive. I struggle to find another unless the training sessions are something special.

I worry that although we'll have games in hand, there is nothing like having the points on the board.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Any danger of us playing any matches soon, let’s press the reset button and start the season again?

I'm in a similar position but thru' choice. When I started a new 40hr a week job I asked if I could squeeze those hours into 4 days so my day off is Monday. Consequentially I miss out on all Bank Holiday Mondays.I'm more annoyed that the brewery that hired my band sent an email cancelling our gig yesterday explaining that they didn't want to be seen to profiteering from the Queen's passing and also not to upset customers who are in mourning. It's not as if we get any Royals in to see us! Ollie's Dad,Ash,guitarist for The SkaStards!

Why not? Charles is, and not paying any tax on it
