PV is showing his tactical ability with 5-4-1 and now 4-2-1-3 with Eze playing though the middle.

The squad will know that he will play to their strengths and if they don't fit with the tactics he won't shoehorn a round peg in a square hole.

For example, JW can play as a right CB in a 3 or RB in a 4. The wing back position would then be clyne. Mitchell can play LB or wing back.

He has built a squad where all of the formations he wishes to play have players that can do the job.

The performance against Villa was just brilliant. And the above formation worked so well.

Lets hope we play that way at home against all of the teams we should be beating.

Only thing is i dont know how to feel about playing both of our senior fit right backs at the same time. but i do agree that PVs Tactical nous in changing formations gives us something different and is refreshing to see

It was certainly encouraging, but I wouldn't say "brilliant". Villa had a number of clear-cut chances that sharper strikers might have tucked away.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Its the prem. Teams always have chances. Our offside goal wasn't offside. If you look at the freeze frame the lines were drawn before the ball was kicked. The defender was running at pace. 0.05 seconds later when the ball was kicked he was well on. Watch it at normal speed. It was just the VAR man giving it 'look at me, look at me!'

We also had several other clear cut chances. It could have been 7-3!

This is the best squad I have seen in 50 years and PV is heading towards the best manager position as well.

Agree with all of that.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
