"Nelson Mandela, what a c*nt. Terry Waite, f*cking b******. I dunno, you lend some people a fiver, you never see them again."

"Hello moosef*ckers! I tell you why I hate Canada, half of you speak French, and the other half let them."

Just 2 classic lines pasted from wiki which tells you all you need to know about him. Brilliant, much copied and a heap above his many (good) imitators.

So when the Fringe banned him for "racism, sexism, homophobia and misogyny" you have to ask yourself: And??!? Of course it is! Who did you think you were booking?

Never heard of the bloke. However what I did think hilarious was the press release from the venue.

I can't find the original quote but it went something like how the venue values free speech however in this case....

So err you don't value free speech then.

I've seen him a few times and it's quite an experience but complaining he's offensive is like going to see Motorhead and walking out because they're too loud.

More pathetic crap. Non offensive humour is just what the doctor ordered. I'm working on a routine for the fringe right now:

"Why did the person of colour cross the road?

To claim the space that they are fully entitled to after years of degenerate white ascendency.

There are more people of all genders, there are more.

How many lesbians did it take to change a light bulb?

Less than it would white males because they're the empowered ones now."

When it all comes down all this has done is make me laugh. Gerry Sadowitz has been around for years and has never changed he has always sought to push the boundaries and shock.

I doubt this is the first and won't be the last time he has been subject to censure.

But who wins here? He does as he now has a battalion of anti woke gammons who will buy tickets to support him and his right to free speech.

He will no doubt devise a few jokes to now offend their delicate sensibilities.

I personally would simply suggest he wasn't funny years ago and is probably still not funny now.

But this is all just a sign of the times. People these days seem far too serious.

Outrage. There's no such thing as bad publicity.*

*(except perhaps kiddy-fiddling)

I disengage, I turn the page.

It seems he was cancelled because of complaints from the staff working at the venue rather than paying customers.
As you say he'll get some material out of it but performing is only one source of income; he's also written several books on close-up magic.
As to whether he's funny that's down to personal preference - I like his act and paying to see him live is about the only way to see him at all.
