It looks like you are right but I'm not sure they can do anything now. The Press Conference was just spin. England really don't look like they know what they're doing. Shambolic. Farrell was one, the other O'Gara. At this stage I'd take Gatland or Hansen and I've always disliked both. I met Gatland which backed up my opinion one hundred per cent. Eddie Jones would be doing better which is really saying something.
The team simply haven't moved on, no youngsters, no style, we look behind in development, skill, flair, pace and execution. We look strong enough, physical enough but simply being battering rams is not the modern game - nor should it be.

England the worst I can remember. A laughing stock. Total rebuild required and Borthwick is getting nowhere. I would be chasing O'Gara with a golden cheque book.

Totally agree. This is the most uncompetitive, dull and uninspiring England team I have seen in my life and I’ve seen some bad uns over the years. You have to look at the RFU as the biggest problem and they can’t see further than the old school tie network.

O’Gara would definitely be an improvement but are we still picking players by committee?

All of the other sides - even Italy - went with youth a couple of years back. They perhaps sacrificed some results at the time but have blooded youngsters - who have improved. Nearly all the England players I can think of have not improved. Players like Itoje and Vunipola have gone from world class to average. Many England players are old. For me, Arundel would be first name in the team and I'd play Smith to get him fully bedded in. Beyond that, I don't know who to pick. There's that typical problem of too many overseas players in the Gallagher Premiership. There are problems everywhere. On top of that, England look overcoached and sluggish whilst other sides look inventive and at least try stuff. On current trajectory wooden spoon incoming. Probably won't get out of our world cup group despite it being easy. It's frankly depressing.
The only thing I will say that is positive is that hopefully, hitting rock bottom will wake England up. But who knows? You would think it couldn't get much worse but from performances recently, it clearly can.

Good riddance. Am not happy with Borthwick though. My ay as well write off the France world cup and the Six Nations. I avidly watch every match and found myself increasingly disillusioned by turgid displays and by rubbish refereeing and poor management of the game altogether. Can barely remember an adequate England performance - let alone a good one. Jones' excuses were wearing thin with everyone. No team has won the World Cup going into it on sh1t form. It's that that has cost him the job.
Trouble is Borthwick couldn't inspire anyone and is a boring and underqualified choice. The obvious ones were O'Gara - who just wouldn't take the poor performances, and Robertson - who would have completely suited England's carrying game. The RFU is ultimately to blame.
Overall the sport is going backwards. At least, a manufactured France win in the World Cup will give the French some interest for a while.
Look at Wasps and Worcester, anyone care?

I wonder whether you remember writing this.

I didn't want to look like a know it all by mentioning it. I was half tempted to show it and say told you so - but it doesn't do the situation any good. I believed England needed a more inspiring and forward thinking coach.

I thought I saw a headline about spying on opponents ahead of the world cup.

Well know need to spy on England we're rubbish and they all know it.

didn't the recent enquiry in to discrimination in cricket conclude there was deep class discrimination? Get another southern hemisphree coach in for the rugby, McCullum is doing the job for English cricket!

Court's is Captain, Mitch is on the wing & Luds is a replacement COYS for England.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
