An extremely poor decision dual purpose player who wanted two years, great injury record, so we went for Jmac and Tomkins, two invalids, which would have covered Kouyate's two years, very poor.

I never rated Kouyate particularly highly, perhaps I expected him to be a bit more than he actually was, but one thing is for certain, I'm sure that his presence alongside Doucoure, the extra bite in the tackle, the general nuisance factor that he brought, would have made a huge difference to what we are currently witnessing without him.

We miss him. Like you, I didn't rate him highly but in the right set-up he could do a decent job.

I watched the forest v Liverpool game on tv yesterday and Kouyate was excellent both defensively and on the break. He was my MOTM rather than Yates. He would have mixed it with the Everton midfield yesterday had he still been with us. Sadly, we are paying and will continue to pay the price of not reaching an agreement with him.

I would add to that his Premiership nous. Would be valuable alongside a young player still learning the game at this level.

We should 100% have kept him.
He did well for us and what would we give to have him back right now?
Combative midfielder who breaks up play well and gets around the field.

Yes, great tackler and blocker but no creative ability at all like most of our midfielders in the past few years

Yes this looks like our biggest mistake of the season, especially now Forest are on fire.

Given the current options he should put Riedewald.in with Doucoure Saturday. He can pick a forward pass and gets the odd goal. Left foot would bring some balance

I think there’s a lot of logic in that thought process alongside the fact he used to play in defence however I am hardly inspired by the prospect.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The recent views in my opinion are balanced and correct. A two year deal would not have been outrageous. particularly given he can fill in at centre back.
I sense PV doesn't want to play two holding mid fielders, although he kind of got that as well with Gallagher and his high energy. Jimmy Mac did that as well, but precious little chance of that again - sadly.
Yeah try Jairo, albeit I'd go for Hughes till the break. As they say keep doing the same thing .......
