Sad news. His time at Palace was brief but who can forget, if you witnessed it, that storming performance of his against Sheffield United in December 1971. We all tend to eulogise about the 5-0 demolition of Man Utd the following year, but the reality is the win over Sheff. Utd was in some ways more impressive in that they were a side riding high in the table, as opposed to Man Utd who were on a poor run of form and struggling in the lower half of the table at the time. There is film of that Sheff. Utd game out there but I always struggle to locate it. If anyone could post it I, and many others, would be very grateful. RIP Yogi

A somewhat late response! That goal he scored was unforgettable. He burst through two defenders and hit the ball from 35 yards as hard as I've ever seen a ball hit. Keeper no hope, if he'd tried to stop it he'd have been seriously injured. I too would love to see a clip.

RIP Yogi, great spell at Palace :-) Also remember a cracker of a goal from the late John McCormack in that same match. Happy days :-)
