Since the Premier League started in 1992 there have been only 3 occasions when all the promoted teams survived their first year. In recent times, usually 2 of the promoted teams have gone straight back down. On that basis, one would expect the latest promoted teams to struggle. I expect Bournemouth to go straight back down. The way Cooper turned Forest's fortunes round last season so quickly (and following his work at Swansea) suggests he will get all the new signings bedded in sooner rather than later and Forest could well survive. As for Fulham, it's a question of which other PL teams face problems. For me, it's Brentford (minus Eriksen now) and Everton and this could give Fulham a chance.

If Forest really have bought 11 new players (I havent paid that much attention) a lot of their survival prospects will depend upon whether those 11 buys were well thought out strategically driven purchases or "OMG were in the Prem we need to buy players fast". I remember when we came up with Ian Holloway as Manager, crazy times & a steep learning curve. Nottm For have indeed signed 11 players, 7 of which are goalkeepers/defenders.

Bournemouth have the appearance of another Norwich. Not spending big and there seems to be an acceptance that staying up will be a battle. Fulham have been reasonably cautious too. I think they will find the going tough. Forest have taken the opposite approach and invested heavily. Now it's down to Steve Cooper to integrate the newcomers and coach them at the top level - so we're about to find out just how good he is. Good enough to keep them up I think. Other relegation candidates...Everton have done nothing to suggest they have learned / improved from last season. Southampton likewise. Leeds I think lack quality and have lost their talisman in Phillips. I think Brentford will be ok although we all know how tough that second season can be. For me then ; Bournemouth, Fulham and Leeds

Frankly I think it's a bit of a crap shoot with who stays up.... At least one of the new boys will, and I would tend to lean towards Forest, but equally they might be doing "a Fulham" by spunking a load of money on players to still be crap. Sadly I don't think Everton will struggle when it's all said and done. They'll start slow, be terrible, sack Lampard, get someone half decent in, spend in January and pull clear. Brentford could be in for a grim season but I think Leeds will struggle more, having lost Phillips and Raphinha (sp?) will be massive losses.

I think Forest will be safe. Bournemouth I'm not too sure of, they have a feel of a team who can sneak to safety. Fulham have to go down otherwise Norwich won't know if they're allowed to come back up

Bournemouth have the worst squad in the league by a mile at the minute. They could be on for a real spanking of a season. The defensive options in particular look pathetic - they're going to have to pull multiple rabbits out of many hats in the next few weeks and hope they can all play at the back! Fulham look the far stronger of the two at present, albeit they'll still have a battle to stay up. If they can finally work out how to get Mitrovic firing in the Premier League...maybe

I find Forest's approach strange. They've gone for quantity over quality to augment what appeared to be a well-managed, settled, and productive squad. Every promoted team needs to bring in players but I'd have thought Forest were a case study of a team with a good foundation who'd have been best off bringing in fewer, but really proven-quality additions who'd have immediately improved them; not a raft of bodies who'd destabilise what they're already built. If the likes of Williams and O'Brien live up to the hype/potential then I think Forest will be ok but if they don't, their approach could blow up in their face. For me, the jury will remain out for the first month or two at least. I'm surprised by Fulham's apparent lack of ambition. They've tried over-spending and gone right back down but now they're under-spending, likely with the same result. They can't seem to find the right balance. As for getting Mitrovic firing, well, how many times can you ask the same question? He's Dwight Gayle's twin, a terror in the Championship who proves only what a step-up scoring goals in the Premier League requires. Based on their current squad, I struggle to see them staying up. Bournemouth, ditto. As with all three promoted teams, their best chances of staying up are the presence of Leeds and Everton in the PL.

Looking at having a bet on Forest to stay up and Leicester City to go down. They are turning into a selling club and when I say that , I mean their best players. The goalkeeper is now been touted about with 1 year left on his contract. Where will we be, about middle top half at best, but with a few big scalps along the way, and big Pat’s stock going upwards. You sense we are in a good place…..

I concur with Willo's comment's. Leeds have sold there best 2 players and i don't think they have adequately replaced them. Forest at least have some Premier League players so might have a chance and will be set up well defensively. Bournemouth are odds on to go down closely followed by Forest and Fulham. Last season i was fearful Palace might go down with the change of manager and multiple squad changes but i am optimistic this year of at least a mid table finish.
