You are correct doombear.

I don't get this 'we need a RB' talk.

Ferguson was bought to be RB. We should give him a chance to see:
a) if he can keep fit, and
b) if he gets match fit, whether he can do the job

We should also bear in mind that Richards may well be able to do that job once he's become accustomed to PL football.

IMHO we should leave talk of a new RB till next summer when we should have a better idea as to whether or not Ferguson and/or Richards can do the job and whether or not any of our Academy RBs might be viable options.

Great Post, couldn't agree more. With Tompkins, Ferguson, Richards, Jairo, Ward and Schlupp able to fill in somewhere at the back, I think we are covered til the next window. Another midfielder and attacker for now then maybe a couple loans used late on if Zaha or Benteke do go. Think the latter is a cert anyway.

But Colwill probably won't be available next year, he might be available now. Sometimes you have to take opportunities when they arise. He who hesitates...

So I think there might be a case for trying to bring him in even though I agree that other positions, particularly in midfield where we have replaced one of those who left (Kouyate) but not the other (Gallagher), should be the priority.

I think our midfield is a major problem. We’ve lost Gallagher and Kouyate and Macca is also injured as well as being old and therefore only when fit likely to last 60 minutes. Luka isn’t the player he was a couple of seasons back and Schlupp is more a fill in / squad player. The defence and attacking players are there but without a midfield we will be struggling. I don’t see Eze as a Gallagher replacement and with him Olise and Zaha in a starting 11 I see us lacking even more in midfield. We need at least two midfielders to come in. Hopefully Vieira sees that as well?

I don’t think PV sees Schlupp as a bit part player, but I do agree we are an aggressive ball winning midfielder short. Sangare would be the answer and probably cheaper than Gibbs White but I’m not sure we have the money for either of them anyway

Really? I don't think the attack is there at all. Vieria clearly doesn't trust or fancy Eduoard and Tekkers much...who are our two best options up top. We need to bring someone in to score.

spot on, we need attacking midfielder and a goal getter who can score and cause panic in the opposition box!

I see though I suspect the only nailed on starter is Guehi. Colwill would team very well with him and Anderson would have to watch his back

Gone to Brighton on loan, time to move on.

Unfortunately I think he'll do very well there... good to see it's just a loan though and we'll swoop for him next season after Brighton have developed him
