All the darlings of the Sports media did a good telly slot on Wogan or BBC or whatever. Lester was a fairly quiet man and almost introverted. But for the cognoccenti , Lester was to horse-racing akin to Tiger Woods to Golf.....totally out there in a class of his own.

Hard to disagree with any of that. It's nice sometimes when peoeple have a bit of character and individuality rather than becoming the latest media darling or personality. That's not some peoples bag and he instead let his ability do the talking. A legend of the sport.
