If you think fraudulent benefit claims (of which there are some) exceed £47 billion a year, I really don't know what to tell you. You're living in cuckoo land. So you also believe none of that money was a benefit to anyone or saved lives. Edited by cryrst (01 Jun 2022 6.40pm)

A fair number of the MP's who are allegedly going for a vote are in 3 digit leads in their constituencies presumably have worried looks on their faces but the troops will rally around Bojo and win the election. I hope he loses but Rishi is relatively damaged goods (assuming he would win that election). Labour if there is a short term future GE would have more decent runners than the Conservatives.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Johnson, for all of his myriad of faults, at least has a charisma of sorts but is there anybody else you could name off the top of your head who is at least in position to take over? I guess Labour have the likes of Andy Burnham and even David Miliband but neither can actually stand. On the Tory side the only one I rate is Gove, and he is very quiet at the moment, along with being close to Cummings who is the very visible face of the on-going efforts to evict Boris and his Lady Macbeth from SW1. But Gove as PM? And able to win the election in 2024? Not sure. A fair bit of chatter about Penny Mourdant about tonight as well so maybe.

Names like Jeremy Hunt, Tom Tugendhat and Liz Truss names currently being thrown about, but I would agree that none exactly leap out.

I haven't looked at recent posts in this thread, but I find it slightly perplexing that the law is coming down hard on protesters, but not Parliament. Everyone has a right to protest. You might not agree with the topic, but I support their right, which is something this particular Government has introduced laws to inhibit/stop. "Six people are being prosecuted by the Metropolitan police for allegedly breaching Covid-19 restrictions during a vigil for Sarah Everard, who was murdered by a Met officer. They are being prosecuted for allegedly attending a gathering of more than two people in an outdoor place when London was under tier 4 restrictions on 13 March 2021." (The Guardian, 2 June 2022)
I disengage, I turn the page. |
