Post Match Analysis Semi - Thoughts? What next?

We were undone by one mistake. When we tried to press, we were killed off by the second goal. It's no shame to lose to one of the best teams in the world. What puzzles me is why we changed a successful back four. How is Ward, who been average all season, suddenly better than Clyne who has done well in recent weeks? You don't drop someone for one poor game, especially for an FA Cup semi final. Why did we introduce Benteke, who hasn't played for weeks and has been useless, when we had Edouard on the bench? Is Benteke not good enough for the league, but suddenly good enough for the most important game of the season? Unfathomable. Why was Olise not risked for at leat a half in the biggest game this season when we are virtually safe in the league? We were much better as soon as he came on, which was no surprise at all. Instead, we got Ayew again. How does that make sense? What was a fairy predictable result became an absolute certainty.

The plan was working up to halftime BUT imagine if we had come out for the second half with Wilf back on the left, Eze in the middle behind Mateta, Olive on the right and reverted to our usual 4 3 3 and really gone for it ! Then if we had got beaten it would be easier to take. One last thought re Wembley who stole all the toilets that they boasted about when it was rebuilt ? The place is a disgrace. Also why were fans herded together on the way out in a bottleneck when all they had to do was open the side streets to disperse the crowd ? Someone near me mentioned Hillsborough and the clown who organised the crowd flow should be sacked.

WAnd wat in heavens name was the point of the people who were just in the way outside the stadium Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

the games can be good to watch, I used to like watching champions league when it was on terrestrial not only cos the quality of the football was so good but there was some jeopardy - this eternal top six is just tedious, their success is too secure, that's what makes it dull. If there is another Arsenal v Chelsea final they should abandon the FA Cup.

the games can be good to watch, I used to like watching champions league when it was on terrestrial not only cos the quality of the football was so good but there was some jeopardy - this eternal top six is just tedious, their success is too secure, that's what makes it dull. If there is another Arsenal v Chelsea final they should abandon the FA Cup.
