They are a team of mercinaries and the Golden Goose has left the building .
Whoever takes over will be looking to reduce the wage bill ,the team is sulking , the overated manager has run out of ideas and their £100 million pound striker has lost the plot

A poor Madrid side took them apart and 3-1 could quite easily have been 5 or 6

The only question is is it the best time to play them or will there be a reaction ? Personally I dont tink they have anything when things are going bad , they are everything I hate about the modern game and wouldnt be surprised if they downed tools and we run out clear winners at Wembley

I imagine that we had slightly better odds back then. At that stage United hadn't won anything and were simply one more big club.

All teams took the cup seriously too unlike today where there are easy fixtures and it wasn't the automatic preserve of the Big 4 and I think had more upsets. Coventry and Wimbledon had won it just before after all.
