I noted that Wilf disappeared down the tunnel almost as soon as the game finished yesterday. I don't know if anything should be read in to that, but, if nothing else, it would have been decent of him to pop down to the Palace end and acknowledge the amazing support that we gave to the team.

He posted on his Instagram page yesterday - an apology to the palace fans

“Sorry for not clapping the fans my emotions got the better of me”

“Really wanted it for our club and amazing fans but wasn’t meant to be but thank you for the unmatched support”

Zaha has been our key attacking threat and club talisman with much to still give. He is Mr Palace and would be guaranteed consistent game time compared to arguably warming the benches of bigger clubs. Yesterday's match was essentially precious experience for many new players and manager (and I am aware of Vieira's success as player but management is a different ball game)with Board hopefully strengthening squad even further during the summer transfer window. The need to be clinical with scoring chances prove to be our undoing yesterday with Zaha marked well for much of the game.
