Wilf's been good this year. Imperfect, and high-maintenance, but still carries a genuine threat. I think his post-30 seniority in a youthful attacking side will rejuvenate his mojo as he slowly steps away from centre stage. Having dreamt of Champions League, it's not surprising that the reality of being the one-man outlet in a defensive set-up must have been anti-climatic for the peak of his career. He deserves to thrive in Vieira's style as much as anyone. I can see him evolving more into a centre forward as the pace dwindles. He's strong, powerful and a better finisher than he's given credit for.

I was in the 'Time to let Wilf go' camp until a few games ago. He's either come to realise how his petulance was upsetting his game or PV has given him a serious talking to. Whatever's happened, he's a changed man recently and all the better for it. I now hope he stays and becomes a member of the coaching team when he stops playing. I don’t know about coaching, he is not the most comfortable with communicating and if he struggles to be a team player that emphasises a lack of people skills and knowing how to get the best out of others because you want to be the focus. I think he is playing the game and by being more smiley and taking the fouls and agitation in his stride - he is trying to project that he can be a better all round team mate to those who are watching with the potential to deal a deal for him elsewhere.
