I think that we have finally got the hang of buying players with sell on values as 7 out of our last 9 buys have been 23 or under, only Hughes (26) and Butland (2 over and both of them have sell on values, excellent business sense, and a complete 180% U-turn on what we have done, excellent in my view.

Totally agree. I think this Was always the plan, however. Last Summer looked targeted to me, maybe we managed to free some wages/funds to give us some freedom in the Transfer market, and have chosen to go with youth and potential. Previous to that we felt restricted, and it was very much a survival exercise.

Also agree. We have had our draws pulled down by Liverpool twice. Lesson learned.

We've done well in the transfer market now for several years. Yes we've changed our policy this year. However, the previous couple of years of buying experienced Prem players for low or free transfers was also very successful as most played a big part in keeping us in the top division. Our problems stem from before that with marquee signings that didn't live up to the hype (or wages).
