They must all be working to rule, if that was part of the deal. Rulers are optional.

Is anyone asking why women are so scared of a sudden ? Is this just political nonsense like so many things, or is there an actual reason why women are now more at risk? I wonder what that reason could be? Do we have stats?

The bad experiences will be shared, commented on, used to generate anger and to further 'agendas'. No-one is ever going to post that they walked home from the pub and it was really quiet, nothing happened and they got home safely.

Thirteen years ago, coming home from an evening match, I would walk down the centre of the (side) roads in Sydenham, with my bunch of keys between my fingers. This gave me less chance of being jumped on (for mugging)from alleyways and side entrances, and more chance of self defence. It also meant that I could go straight up the path and open the front door without having to stop and look for keys - another danger point where you are vulnerable to attack. This was simply regarded as 'normal' precautions by me and my women friends - but I would never have let it stop me going out - least of all to Palace!

Women are not at more risk now than at any other time. If they are, then we need to ask why. I'd say Britain is a far less safe place now for everyone than it has ever been in my lifetime, but you can't rely on official stats because they are manipulated.
