Yep we get our utilities from ecotricity. Any bets on Edwards being employed by Watford at Christmas? It's been said the club want a longer term approach and younger squad etc . And yes I agree it seems we have been very underhand here but no surprised unfortunately.

I was surprised that once Watford knew they had their man they didn't approach FGR and agree compensation which leads to me one conclusion. I suspect that your new manager had a termination clause in his contract a 2/3 month notice. Apparently this is now standard outside the PL as it allows clubs to get rid of managers on the cheap. If that is the case all he had to do was give notice as for FGR they have failed to protect their asset which is why they are p*ssed.

Whilst I can understand the lure of moving on to a bigger club in a higher division, surely he has to only look at the problems that same club has endured over the last few years - 8 managers since 2018 - Surely the alarm bells would have been ringing.

I suppose a million or two eases the pain of the sack. He looks like a long-term option if you consider it. Is it possible to last a season at Watford?

Gracia stayed 18 months! Surely they will have to give the bloke time after going through all this dodgy business but no doubt you are right. We'll lost a few games and the owners and *fans will want a change. *Some might say they don't like the culture of sacking managers but most were behind getting rid of Munoz, Flores and Ivic for example. There was no great outcry of anger when they were sacked. More sympathy for Ranieri and Pearson and well less said the better about the reaction to Hodgson. Not sure he has ever won over the fans.

It did seem a desperate appointment. Obviously a few wins early on would’ve helped, but Hodgson’s style of play is grim at the best of times, but once the defeats started mounting up as well……. I would have thought that the guy from FGR having won them promotion would have been better off going into the new season with FGR & continuing to prove his worth, at that point he would have likely got a much better offer from a more stable club - If the Watford thing dosent work out (& quite frankly anything other than promotion at the end of next season will probably be deemed a failure to the owners) he is unlikely to still be there by Christmas & his stock will have fallen rather than risen
