I’ve never been to the gaymex before but My friend is willing to get me a ticket for Brighton away on his account but has informed me that they will check tickets on the gate. And have to show I’d / season ticket to match the ticket for the game ? Is this correct and will they stop me getting in ? Thankyou

I think as long as the purchaser is with you with their ID it's ok. If phases permit then ST holders/members can buy additional next week and obviously can't use the extra seat themselves. Ticket site states
