Agree on Gallagher - I think he's fairly average technically

Guehi has won 60% of his aerial duels so far this season, which is not bad - better in terms of success rate and quantity compared with Anderson, for example.

For more context, White is about 52%, Mings is about 60% and Dunk also bang on 60%, so I wouldn't agree he's particularly weak in this area.

Of course he can and will still improve, but I think for a 20 year old playing his first season at this level, he's been unbelievably impressive - even amongst the Ezes and Olises, I think Guehi is our best prospect.

Can get him at 8/1 to make the World Cup squad next year... tempting.

Interesting stats on the headers. White has been caught out in the air, quite famously. I've haven't watched much of Dunk, Mings seems good in the air. I can imagine maybe Van Dyke at the top of most defensive stats. This season, Duffy must be up there. I presume Maguire is high but haven't looked.
I just don't remember seeing Guehi header that much, although I got the general perception he did well in our last couple of matches. Brutish Burnley will be an interesting test. Fingers crossed.

I know what you mean about Gallagher, at the minute he is all energy, and that gets him the rub of the green. He doesn't ooze class.

Id also agree on Guehi lacking aerial ability, but given the direction of the modern game I don't think its an issue. Especially playing alongside someone like Maguire.

"Not ooze class.!" Are you kidding? What about his goal vs Man City or the 2 he scored against est Ham or the pass for Wilf before 1-0 Man C? That is class in my eyes.....

In my opinion neither are ready for the top level just yet. It is a step up again (well, against the top teams it is but not against the likes of San Marino).

Should be looking at next season and the next tournament before they will have the right amount of experience.

I also think Gallagher is not ready to play against the top teams. He looked ok against San Marino but nothing more. It looked for a lot of the time that he was searching to find the correct position on the pitch. That positioning will come to him naturally when he gains more experience.

I think you are reading too much into his ‘Debut’ he came on and wanted to get a goal especially as they started to fly in. I think he was trying to impress too much like when you are at a trial and that affected his positioning and natural game.
