As usual the chairman invariably thanks the owner of the arse he has just kicked out, for the excellent job they have done Oh yeah? So how come you didn't extend their contract?

They spent a lot of money, that being said, I thought Dean Smith was a stand up person who managed to get the best out of his players. Obviously I don't know who they'll hire, but this sacking most likely doesn't help them one bit (kind of like the Norwich sacking, which frankly was unexpected, as I thought the owners were better than that).

Follow the money as its always more important

Nice bloke perhaps but looked to me to be fairly clueless as PL manager - saved by his players. A lot of money means well over 300 million in 3 seasons - that is a ludicrous amount - and he also inherited Grealish. They have been a near relegation form team when Grealish has not been in the side for 2 seasons now. So that's 300 million to jog along at just under a point a match. It's not even as if he has established any footballing identity there. Villa have no style - football mishmash.

Pretty sure to sell or keep Grealish would not have been Dean Smiths decision.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |
