against Newcastle, who are shyte, we looked fearful.

is confidence the secret ingredient ? that needs to be added to the mix ?

Easy to over complicate things.
This season we got 2 new centre backs and we replaced Reidwald with Gallagher. MacArthur and Luca back.
Then we got Edouard for Townsend.
Benteke playing better and Zaha.
Put PV and his coaches in the mix and you have a revitalised looking Palace.

All great ideas but we have already done those things and we still can’t win a game. What’s next on your list?

Agree entirely. I thought Benteke and Edouard was just what we needed at the time but in fact they added nothing of value. With five minutes left, it would have been impressive had we been able to keep the ball for, say, four of those. I put the watch on it. In the first instance, having been awarded a throw in, we kept the ball for seven seconds. In the next, eight seconds and in the third, seven seconds. Not impressive game management at all.
That said, this was a young side in, as someone has said elsewhere, 'a cauldron of hate', and it won. It has to be admitted, though, that only between the start of the second half and seventy six minutes did we boss the game and that's not really good enough. I hope that Eze and Olise can play in the same side, but it'll take time to bed in. Interesting to go for flair when the weather was awful and the context intimidating. In view of that, PV must feel vindicated.

To see the game out we bring on Jaro, Milo and Tekkers and we looked poor. Should have kept the same players on and just swapped Mateta for Edouard.

Get the third and completely kill the game. Not sure we have it in us to protect a 1 goal lead.

i am getting sick and tired of having to bump this thread so often.

whenever we are one goal up, its very difficult to watch us.

Even the game at the Den. It was not as easy as i had hoped against a Championship side.

can we ever get comfy with a one-goal lead ?
