Selling 3 or 4 stolen road bikes a week & making £4k/£5k is far easier and better paid than getting a minimum wage job. The risk vs reward is heavily stacked in favour of reward, the police are useless. There used to be something called Smart water which effectively tagged the bike frame with a serial number and for a while years back it was reasonably effective and some people actually got their bikes back however this was cut heavily from the police budget & money went elsewhere (probably to the Marxist rainbow cult) im not sure the police do anything for cyclists anymore. Alot of the time the thieves will strip the bikes of their parts and dump the frame as high end components can cost thousands. The mountains are calling & I must go.
