What is it about Milner,he seems to be one of those untouchables for Refs,he is a dirty player, and gets away with all sorts of strokes, yesterday a prime example, the ref chickened out of sending him off,was it because of home fans or just weak reffing,no wonder Pep had a rant, this sort of bias does football no good, and l am not a fan of either team!!

I was about to post the same. 7 fouls against Palace no card, pundits say what a great professional. 3 fouls yesterday, all yellow card offences 1 yellow. Pundits say should have been sent off. How Henderson could moan at Silva beggars belief

Liverpool's version of Jimmy Mac. Always prepared to take one for the team. But sneaker in my view. He wouldn't have shown the same concern for Vardy as Jimmy did after bringing him down. Would've walked away.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

it is a bit like when Paul Scoles great player but always put in dreadful tackles and got away with it with summarisers laughing that he hadn't learnt to tackle .A few years ago he was so late with a horrendous tackle on Wilf that he didn't even wait for the red card and trudged off

have a look at my thread about Referees bias for big clubs. If Milner was wearing a Palace shirt, would the refs have been so lenient ? you tell me. Milner is certainly a violent thug every time he plays. Sergio Ramos ... something similar. Huge success from being a thug. Notwithstanding his 26 Red Cards, he has still benefitted from all the maiming of fellas with a clear shot on target. 10,000 brutal violent tackles, 26 Red Cards. He is a match winner. Some players know how to deal with referees. Old pros like Milner have sussed that out. Vinnie Jones used to keep notes on refs so he could get pally with them before games. He used to remember the names of their wives and kids along with what their interests are. Milner has probably been talking to the same ref for years and because of it the ref probably thinks he's a nice guy who's not malicious (I think he probably is a decent guy tbh). That plants the unconscious bias in a refs mind. Knowing when to cheat is part of the game. Barnes put in a smart hack in the dying minutes against Olise on Sunday and picked up a yellow. Kouyate should have taken one for the team against Brighton last Monday. Dean Moxey shouldn't have handled the ball on the line against Millwall a few years back. In fairness to Ramos, Salah had initiated the contact ready to take a dive. Salah had AWB sent off whilst trying to initiate the same thing.

I actually think he would struggle playing in that position for any prem league side. Can you imagine Jimmy Mac playing in that position? Refs are protecting Milner as he should walk most matches I’ve seen him in. He is a liability and I don’t understand why Liverpool play him in that position or at all. He’s finished at that level unless they play him from the bench or in midfield in a Jimmy Mac role in my opinion?
