Who needs loo rolls these days? Invest in a "bum gun". Cheap to buy, easy to fit, and produces a much more comfortable cleansing. Like a bidet, but with power. Learned the benefits when I lived in Asia and would never go back to using a dirty, ineffective loo roll which breaks into pieces and makes you sore, again. Best investment I ever made. I had to look this up never having heard of it. On the Screwfix website plumbers were saying this is quite popular now but illegal if you are using mains water as the feedback will contaminate it. I believe it is a power jet so does it not create microscopic bits of poo, aerosolize? I get that in hot Asia it must be quite pleasant but in winter over hear a cold water jet? I find it difficult not to be amused by the photos in the press about petrol stations having queues of traffic. This again fuels more panic buying. You have to applaud the comedy genius that orchestrated scenes like these. Perhaps it's just my mentality that doesn't really rise to the panic agenda. I was more concerned that there is a national shortage of terracotta plant pots in UK garden centres. When will this madness end ? Meanwhile I'm still intrigued by Mr Funt's offer of methane. When he says "Buyer collects", is he talking about a national location, or a bodily one ?
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Edited by Badger11 (25 Sep 2021 1.51pm) I have had both plumbers fit them and done it myself. Never heard anyone suggest it's illegal to fit one using mains water, and I cannot see how any contamination could result. It's a spray which carries anything away and not back inside, so that's an illogical idea. We don't worry about washing our hands or scrubbing the spuds, do we, and both are contaminated. I think you can get a power version (and heated loo seats with a built-in dryer if you are loaded) but most are at standard pressure. I have had them fitted with a mixer valve, so with warm water, but mostly with just cold, which is perfectly OK, refreshing and quite soothing at times. You can regulate the flow to suit your personal preference.
