This annoyed me so much, said Milner was brilliant and Wilf didn't get a sniff but failed to mention the 9 fouls he committed (most of them on Wilf) with no punishment coming his way. Very easy to defend when you're allowed to clatter players left and right without reprimand. Yes precisely, players are allowed from above to get away with dirty tactics, we were stuffed good and proper.

I'll be honest I'm very much in the "anti" camp, based on literally years, as in seasons of no return, and crucially not even those around him bang in 15 goals a year thanks to him. I love a nuanced, clever approach to things, but eventually we have to stop with this idea that his hold up work, and his "ability to bring others in" can hide the fact that frankly he's looking out of ideas, effort and energy. Half the time he's anonymous in set pieces and even when given decent chances he's prone to cock it up. Even his smash and grab winner at Brighton was shinned in, lol. His goals for us early doors kept us up and for that reason he still represents a good signing, but sorry people need to face facts and not take every once in a blue moon goal or decent spell as reinforcement for the idea he's anything but poor. The fact is you stick Butterfield upfront and you'll get a perfect hat-trick, put anyone upfront and they'll come up with a goal now and again, it's football and they're all pretty good at it, but to insist and pretend he represents a legit threat upfront is madness to me. /endrant

The lack of Murray killed Pardew in the end, if he'd decided two actually use him instead of allowing him to play elsewhere we'd have been able to keep the goals flowing such a shameful waste by Pardew and one that is still hurting him to this day. You're barking up the wrong tree with this according to what I was told at the time. Pardew didn't want to sell GM, it was Parish and he was being ' advised ' by Mark Bright to sell if a fee of £4m came in - which it did.

Gotta say, this riles me a bit. I've seen so much in the media about how "humble" and "down to earth" Mane is, but this just seems a bit low

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Given how many consecutive games he has scored against us why wouldn’t he want to play us every week.

I have always thought that Bobby Madley was one of the most consistently poor referees against Palace in previous seasons. Also the ref struck off for mocking disabled people. It was little surprise then when I read that Andy Madley is his older brother. Go figure. Edited by PalaceBob2012 (22 Sep 2021 12.01am)

Yes, both complete w@nkers. With regard to yesterday he'd clearly decided before the game he wasn't going to give any free kicks for fouls on Zaha unless they were blatant chops or hacks. He showed a complete reluctance to punish a series of deliberate and tactical fouls by Liverpool with a card. Bottled the only two real decisions he had to make in the game which were both penalties for fouls on Benteke and Edouard (shirt pulling). To cap it off he booked Ward when he finally lost it after Mane shoved him and nothing was given. Truly incompetent and weak. Sorry to bump this - 3-0 defeat at Anfield September 21 and another refereeing masterclass.
