What about "yeah, no" or even "no, yeah". A lot of folk say this in interviews in response to questions. Strange ways now. BTW I was being ironic when I said hate with a haitch. Of course you say aitch. Even I was taught that at my comprehensive full of no-hopers. What are teachers telling their pupils? Regret to say that the head teacher at my granddaughter's school says haitch too. No hope I guess.
