He was also obsessed with spaghetti westerns - The Return of Django being a prime example.

I confess I'd never even heard of Perry till this thread popped up, but I have made a point of listening to some of his work on Spotify. And I can see the attraction, but not for me these days. I used to love dancing around to Ska music at parties and Under The Olive Tree in South Croydon in the 60s. Give me a good bash of Skatelites any day. I've got Guns Of Naverone on my jukebox. Anyway, Perry had quite a following so RIP old chap.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
