I am normally one of the people on here who get very frustrated by fans insistence on getting ex-players back into the club.

However I am going to re-iterate what I said right at the end of last season regarding Bolasie.

His form at Boro towards the end of last season was very good. Boro fans really liked him and he got as close to the Yannick we knew and loved when he was with us, prior to his injury.

I really think we are looking at getting in more cover for the wing areas. Eze and Olise missing at the start of the season.

I think we are looking at trying to get Reiss Nelson in on loan to help cover this and I feel that Yann Karamoh is a backup plan too.

If we can't land either of those I really think we should go after Yannick. He is the sort of player and has stated he wants to and needs to play somewhere where he is loved. He would get that with us and he needs to train and play somewhere to keep his career on track. I'm certain we could do some sort of short deal, or pay as you play deal so he can keep training at a club with facilities whilst he can try to find himself a more permanent deal whilst it would give us cover in a position we need short term cover in. As far as I can see it is a solution that suits both parties.

Because Boro are very skint, they have had to haemorrhage money because their parachute payments have ended. Boro have been forced to release a lot of their top players for free this summer.

Yannick was great for Palace - but time has moved on - forget trying to bring him back to play in the first team. His fitness is at best at Championship level now after his injury.
