Can I be enlightened as to how an obscene amount of Money being quoted comes from.... Transfer Fee is one thing, $160m but how does someone get paid $400k a week.
is that x 52 which is $20.8m or (38 weeks $15.2m).
How much income tax is levied or is it squirreled away
in avoiding such an obligation!
Harry and I share same birthday, and I like him, but as I said in the beginning (ITS OBSCENE !).
Could add more but someone please fill me in (not literally)

You’re right it’s an absurd amount of money, it would take the average person 13.5 years to earn his week’s wages, but it’s just part of the escalating madness in football. Aubameyang at Arsenal is reportedly on £375,000 a week so if Kane’s transfer fee breaks the record they’ll pay him the highest wages too.
Financial Fair Play has effectively been killed off so they can pay what they like.
BTW - over proof Bundaberg Rum? That really messed me up a few times.

It'll be paid because the new employer wants to pay it and can afford to pay it.

Harry Kane's tax affairs are his own business. I can't imagine that he pays anything other than what he is obliged to pay by the tax system.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Hope he signs for City and Jack Grealish as well. One because I’d like to see how many goals he scores for a good team- it could be ridiculous and two because of him, foden, Sterling and Grealish play together all season that can only be good for England.

As for money, stupid amount but they can afford it. Also he’ll get sponsorship on top of that!

I would like to see Grealish go to City because whilst there is zero chance that we will finish above City there is a good chance that Villa will be significantly less effective without him

the thing is I don't even think Kane would ask for that sort of money. If he wants to win trophies then City is a good bet. Some of these clubs are really f*cking up the whole wage structure entirely of their own accord, and completely unnecessarily.

Really, who needs that much money? They're better off folding it into the transfer fee to secure him.

I would suggest that the agent in between is the driving force in a lot of these transactions.

Well, quite simply, football is the most popular sport in the world with the Premier League being the best league and Man City being the best team. Fans are happy to pay good money to watch it on the TV and at the stadium and sponsors are happy to pay big bucks to be associated. Kane is at the absolute peak of this and therefore worthy of his earnings (in my opinion). He's at the top of the entertainment industry and watched by tens of millions globally twice a week.

The same can be said as Hollywood actors or musicians.

His personal tax bill will be gigantic, but there are investments aimed at people like Harry Kane which are designed to reduce his tax liability.
