Left backs are exciting, right backs are boring?

Just a thought - it works for Palace and England so I wonder if it's general. We never had a right back to compare with Kenny Sansom or Dean Gordon till Clyne and AWB came along, prior to that our greatest right back was between Johns Sewell and Humphrey (maybe Peter Wall and Paddy Mulligan) ... the left backs definitely have more pzazz. For England, left backs: Terry Cooper, Ray Wilson, Sansom, Cole, Shaw, Pearce all great ... right backs - nobody in particular until Gary Neville, Trippier's good and TAA is great but the left backs have it. And think of a famous fullback? Robert Carlos, Paolo Maldini, Gareth Bale (initially), Paul Breitner, all left backs, right backs are very hard to think of ... Bertie Vogts perhaps, although the French have come up up with a few (Pavane ... did Tigana or Thuram play right back?) ... but the lefties definitely have it. Is this just a meaningless appearance or do you have any thoughts as to why left backs are somehow 'sexier' than right backs, it wouldn't work for wingers I think.
