RTE.... fairly decent pundits, who speak their mind with less of the FiFa/FA politics. They give opinions that you will never hear on BBC or Sky.

ie. the massive bias of referees toward big clubs, the stinking corruption at the top of World football, the strange tactics of Gareth Southgate.

I find their constant anti England agenda humourous and watch it just to see the utter disdain on their faces when England do well. Liam Brady could nit bring himself to say anything good about England at all. Damien Duff said some stuff then made a silly jibe. Ronnie Whelan on commentary went off script and said Jorgino should have been sent off. But order was restored when they could all bask in the glory of England's failure. Because Ireland are a great football team, in a high achieving sporting country. Glass houses and stones cone to mind but I don't know it as Gaelige.

Horse racing is not a sport. Ireland have never been past the quarter finals of a rugby World Cup.
I watched the match in the yard of a bar. I'm English Irish and was with a similar friend. Everybody booed the English team as they came out. They called Sterling a cheating monkey! They jeered and booed taking a knee. They then shouted and screamed blue murder when England scored. It got more and more anti England as the night went on.
There were monkey noises as Rashford stepped up for his penalty. And cheers on all the misses. There was then a song football's not coming home.
Presumably similar scenes in Scotland and Wales. Luckily Ireland has so much in common with Italy. The fashion, the fast cars, the beautiful tanned women etc.
The RTE commentary openly mocked England. I have a funny feeling the BBC would not quite do the same.
I'm telling it how it is, not how people want it to be. Since Brexit the anti British rhetoric in Ireland, fuelled by the media, is equivalent to the Trump stuff.

RTE is about as lefty as the BBC . The exception is Brexit, they lampoon it and describe it as Turkeys voting for Christmas.

told to do so by their masters at the Dáil, who are told what to think by the EU.

I watched on the BBC but only the match as I'm not interested in what the pundits say so don't watch it.

I don't mind Jermain Jenas normally but I think that he spouted quite a bit of rubbish this time and must admit that I prefer the old days when they didn't have co commentators and the main man just told you who was on the ball without all of the irrelevant rubbish that they spout nowadays

There use to be a time....not that long ago....where you turned on a football program and what you received was just football.
