I would say that this is surely very much on the money. What autonomy they have or had will very much fall more and more in line with that of the Chinese government. Their battle has been lost. Must be rather damaging to the national psyche really. No wonder some want to call it quits and move here (rather than stop us from visiting there).

I understand the Chinese puppet government in Hong Kong have vowed to fill in the gaps of their national security law, this no doubt has been at the request of the CCP.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
