Leftwing on Leftwing then.
And with another potential by-election in the offing, dependent on the outcome of a court case, in a heavily Muslim area, I suspect Mr Galloway will be out and about to cause mischief and mayhem once again.

Labour ran a divisive campaign that exploited ethnic divisions in the constituency. Nice of you to be so gracious in defeat, when her sister was killed for doing her job. Galloway took 8000 votes, the majority of which would probably have gone to labour.

I don't thin k Labour can produce more seats with the same levers in play : Relative of murdered MP as candidate actually from the area. Hancock effect. Opportunity to use divisive anti Conservative tropes about India ( leaflets featuring PM with Indian PM ) I don't think GG will succeed in his attempt if any to replicate a Woolass situation. Food for thought that there are constituencies in the UK that are seemingly more concerned with ethnic / religious issues overseas than domestic issues. Let's see what the new MP says about the teacher in hiding, if anything. It's over so thread has served it's purpose

Labour as an election winning party resemble someone on life support in constant denial that they are unwell. Mind you at least they represent the opinions of most of their members....which is far less the case than with the Conservatives.

However, this should not prevent me from highlighting the Labour divisive campaign tactics. The Conservative performance was poor relative to expectation. However, the party’s share of the vote was all but static, falling by less than two per cent.

You could argue that Labour selecting Leadbetter who was not qualified under Labour rules was a blatant desperate attempt to get a sympathy vote, and it worked. Originally posted by Willo

Galloway polled very well, so very left leaning constituency. If only they weren't battling each other but the tories instead. The 5 far-right candidates all lost their deposits.
