It is indeed. But I can't help picking it up. Years ago I posted that honours should be awarded solely for voluntary and unpaid charitable work, and I could see no justification for honouring top industrialists, entertainers and sportsmen (and women), who had mostly already earned huge amounts of cash. That includes Roy. And it certainly includes that foul-mouthed bullying Scottish oaf from Old Trafford, who was given a knighthood. It still makes me angry.
I do agree, having worked with people in Civil Service who got honours for…. doing their job.

Delighted for Roy. Very rarely do we get The Honours System right in terms of worthy recipients.
