I worked for a chap in south croydon, who is a Bee specialist. Apparently bees are very sensitive to their surroundings and emotions / ambiance. A number of people have told me including the beekeeper that if a swarm settles in your garden it is a compliment they are very fussy. She also explained that when it is time for a new queen there are about 10 lava? waiting to hatch. The first one out kills the rest of the queens quite ruthless. I can see why people get facinated by them I learnt so much in just a short chat.

We have had bees under the roof tiles of our converted barn near the front door Apparently they are 'cornish' bees and not aggressive. Interesting to see the mortuary bees clearing out the dead or sick bees - they just pick them up and dump them in the flower beds.

i bought some second-hand bee-keeping PPE (slightly damaged), for £400. I thought it was good value, but on second thoughts, I'm feeling a bit stung
