Information notice: Suspension of licence - BetIndex Limited... a business model that the licensing board didn’t understand , yes it was a bet .. but the company created a “ market” based on stocks , not a winner passing the post .. will be interested if any monies are returned

I never understood the business model so perhaps someone can explain if I get it wrong.

You buy and sell players, this is no different to kids swapping cards in the playground. The rarest cards have the most value so I guess the same could apply to FI players.

Where it goes crazy for me is that you get a dividend for each player, where does that money come from?

If I hold ICI shares the dividend comes from the company making a profit not from the owners of the FTSE 100. I just don't get how that translates into FI and maybe that is why it collapsed.

Seems more like a Ponzi scheme to me.

This was a seriously flawed Business.
I have some knowledge of it and forgetting the "game" they kept asking for more investment and as such new investors were seeing their initial investment worth less than they paid from day one whilst previous investors shares were growing in value.
That side of things was a disaster waiting to happen.
So they have shafted their shareholder investors and their game investors.
It was almost a pyramid scheme - people investing say £20k for example and only getting shares worth £5k and for them to gain they need more crowdfunding to happen and so on.
Dreadful that it was even allowed to get off the ground.

It lost 65% of its value today. Not good if anyone took your advice tbh.
