Information notice: Suspension of licence - BetIndex Limited... a business model that the licensing board didn’t understand , yes it was a bet .. but the company created a “ market” based on stocks , not a winner passing the post .. will be interested if any monies are returned

I never understood the business model so perhaps someone can explain if I get it wrong. You buy and sell players, this is no different to kids swapping cards in the playground. The rarest cards have the most value so I guess the same could apply to FI players. Where it goes crazy for me is that you get a dividend for each player, where does that money come from? If I hold ICI shares the dividend comes from the company making a profit not from the owners of the FTSE 100. I just don't get how that translates into FI and maybe that is why it collapsed.
